Welcome!

Posted by: amira_elizabeth

So why did I make this community?
Well I was journeying through the Avatar fandom world and I kind of found no community that really focused on discussing Avatar without all the ranting, bashing, and such. I have issues with the show, certain characters, and certain aspects of the fandom and I really found there was no place comfortable enough to discuss these things. Or for others to discuss what they want to in comfort.

For example: A lot of people I know had an issue with the finale. But all I have found was a lot of ranting and little substance. And I like substance. I like Avatar discussions where people use examples, keep an open mind to opposing viewpoints, and are respectful to each other. I fully expect there to be passion in these discussions, but not the kind of passion that inspires a rant basically consisting of "Aang is a prick."

This community I hope will continue on through the release of the new Avatar comics and Korra.

So what are the rules?
Basically don't bash (characters, ships, etc.), think of this as a debate club or that you are doing research for something at work (basically don't half ass your arguments and replies. Make them meaningful), and keep an open mind.

If you get out of control or I have to repeatedly warn you, I will ban you from the community. I don't care what you ship, what characters you like, etc. just be nice.

I might occasionally post topics to discuss if I feel there is too much focus on some things.

Your posts and membership will be on a mod approved basis for the time being. Not for censorship reasons, but because I want to see if people are getting the hang of it. I might just not mod approve posts at all initially and go from there. And I will appoint a co-mod for this community.

Enjoy!!

comments
